About

My life changed in so many ways since I had my girls.  Becoming a mom and having my baby in my hands for the first time gave me an incredible feeling of love and connection.

Breastfeeding turned out to be more difficult than I imagined, but it became one of the most rewarding experiences in my life.  It created an amazing bond with my daughters that continues to grow. That’s why I believe that we need to support and encourage breastfeeding for all women.  Some moms like me wanted more privacy during this special connection.  This challenge inspired me to launch the Poncho Baby and our first signature nursing cover.  I began sketching product designs, talking to other moms and breastfeeding advocates.  Ultimately, I drew inspiration from my cultural roots.  In the Colombian Andes Mountains, ponchos have been used for centuries as versatile garments to protect against the cold and were used by adults and kids.

Since our families are distributed across in the East Coast and Colombia, we have been traveling with our girls since they were very little.  Due to the lack of easy to use products for families and babies on-the-go, I focused our Poncho Baby product line on designing products that were high quality, stylish, eco-friendly, multifunctional and compact.

We believe in giving back to our community.  Poncho Baby donates products to Baby2Baby, which is a non-profit association that provides products for low-income families, especially mothers and their little ones
